No, we are not talking about the monument of love in Agra built by Shahjahan. This one is an iconic building that stands tall in the heart of the Capital and has completed 40 glorious years of timeless hospitality, elegance and charm.

From having chronicled trends and setting benchmarks in hospitality, to being the house of firsts, the legendary Taj Mahal, New Delhi gave the city its first 24-hour international eatery, Machan and the first Chinese restaurant in a five-star, House of Ming that still continue to delight patrons. The hotel also opened the doors to one of the city’s most popular discotheques, The Number One, and was home to stellar restaurants – Haveli, Casa Medici and The Captain’s Cabin.

Taj Mahal, New Delhi with its landmark location has been a bedrock of fine living and legendary hospitality. To thank its patrons for their overwhelming support and to commemorate this milestone, the Hotel hosted a reception at the spectacular Poolside Lawns showcasing treasured memories since 1978.

The evening witnessed a nostalgic culinary trail with 40 dishes dedicated to the year of opening, photographs of the Hotel’s luminous history and glimpses of its innovations today. The façade of pink Dholpur sandstone has been dramatically lit up in celebration with the hashtag #TajMahalNewDelhiForever.

The spirit of celebration was witnessed across the Taj Delhi-NCR Hotels as they have come together with a week-long culinary commemoration from October 11-17, 2018 showcasing 40 dishes comprising old favourites from Machan, House of Ming and Haveli.
